One suicide every 5.3 weeks
Twenty-eight doctors have committed suicide between 2012 and November 2015 while under GMC disciplinary procedures according to this freedom of information request, i.e. one suicide every 5.3 weeks. Over the course of a decade that's about 90 deaths, putting the GMC in the same league as Harold Shipman. And let’s not forget that suicides are under-reported.
I doubt if any of those 28 doctors had done something so bad that they deserved to die.
Does the GMC save a life every 5.3 weeks?
